Queen Elizabeth Foundation Neuro Rehabilitation Service

Janet brings over twenty years of experience and skills to QEF from a career path in rehabilitation encompassing clinical, academic and managerial roles.
As service manager for the Neuro Rehabilitation Service for QEF Janet brings a person-centred, problem solving, collaborative approach to the rehabilitation and treatment provision which takes place here.

Janet is passionate about neuro rehabilitation, and particularly enjoys working in an interdisciplinary manner. She believes strongly in the ethos that ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’, and is proud to be working for QEF, which she feels offers a unique set of services to offer opportunities for people with neurological injury.

Janet’s publications include an article in the International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation (2012) entitled ‘Perceptions of Physiotherapy Students of a Person Centred Approach in Rehabilitation’ She also a contributed in the Neurology section of The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures

Bridging the gap – a 3 rd sector solution

Transitioning from NHS services can leave people feeling isolated and concerns clinicians faced with discharging patients at the “end of the pathway”. QEF work with local health partners to develop the Surrey Stroke Recovery Programme to bridge the gap for stroke survivors coming to the end of NHS commissioned stroke rehabilitation.  This seminar offers a 3 rd sector
perspective on achieving self-management.
